Food Glorious Food!
The Blue Cafe is renowned in the Canterbury area as the place to go for both the discerning diner with a great a la carte menu, but also for the hungriest sportsman - if you're just coming off the mountain or back from the rivers and lakes, the pub grub menu will hit the spot.
Chef Mike's famous Steak Burger or Venison Sausages are a must, or if you rate your appetite, how about our 300gm steak with your choice of wicked sauces? The dynamic menu below includes constantly changing specials and utilises local produce such as venison and lamb, and a changing selection of fresh fish.
While trying one of Mike's succulent delights, our friendly staff can advise you on a great wine match from our extensive wine list. We have a great balance of New Zealand whites (the best in the world) with some new Kiwi reds to help complement the fantastic Australian reds available.
All our desserts are hand crafted in house and sometimes look too good to eat! Just try to resist the Vanilla bean cheesecake served with seasonal berries and ice cream or how about warm baby doughnuts rolled in cinnamon sugar and topped with chocolate sauce and ice cream! Then finish off with your choice from our full selection of great coffees, liqueurs and ports, or simply walk through to the pub to enjoy the friendly atmosphere and entertainment available for the rest of the evening.
Functions & Conferences
We offer facilities catering for up to 100 people making us the perfect choice for your next get together, party or work do. We provide a range of menu options from nibbles and finger food all the way through to full buffet or plated meals.
